First Premier Bank
Rip-off of late fees, not sending statements, excess fees

Signed up for this card a while ago before all of this information was available on sites like this. I have finally had enough with them.

After not using the card for about a year (still paying the $6.00 a month just to have the card) they suddenly stopped sending me a statement every few months. I suppose I could have just missed it, but when they are the only person I have problems recieveing bills from it makes me wonder. On top of all of this I would have to pay the $25 late fee each time.

After several phone calls to them to verify my mailing adress and to make sure they had the correct information, I was told that it is not their responsibility to be sure I recived a bill evey month from them.

It makes me wonder, after reading all of this, if they purposly do not send statements to people in order to make more revenu from late fees. As I said, it only happened after I stopped using the card and paid off the balance.

On top of all of this I called them last night to close the account only to find I have $85 in charges on an account I have not used in more than a year. $6 a month for two months, one of which was paid and my bank shows has been posted and the other not even due untill January 5th, a $25 late fee for for the payment they say they never recieved but my bank says otherwise, the $48 yearly fee (which is charged a year in advance) that they refuse to remove even though It was just charged this month but should not be valid due to me closing the account.

After reading so many others problems with this bank, I wish I would have looked for/found this information 3 years ago before I signed up for the card. My only concern now is if I have ever made any payments over the phone to them, do they still have my information and will they try to debit my account after the fact? I purposly did not authorize a payment by phone to them last night due to reading others horror stories.

It is just a wonder why with all of us having these problems why there has not been talk of a class action lawsuit against them?
