They are an absolute rip-off and use bait and switch tactics!!!

I was contacted by phone and offered a platinum Mastercard for 0% for the life of any balance transfers and 0% on purchases until May. There was going to be a maximun bal trnf fee of $50 per bal trnf depending on the amount.

Since I was locked into a lousy rate on a First Usa account that I closed I did the application. I requested a written one since I was sort of wary of doing it over the phone. The (apparently India located) person pressured me into doing it via phone for faster service etc. Etc.

Everything went well at first. I received the credit card with a $4000 balance and transferred other cards to consolidate. After receiving a bill on a random date AFTER I requested to change my payment date to the 16th, I called to get information and was SHOCKED and APPALLED to find out I did not have 0% bal transfers for life but only until May or July and NO 0% bal on purchases but 18.74%

I couldn't BELIEVE this. After talking to a supervisor and asking about these bait and switch tactics I was told that I must not have "qualified" for that particular offer and they sent me an alternate offer. Mind you the ONLY area that showed the interest rates was teeny tiny confusing print on the back of the information sent with the credit card! Even with the person on the phone I could barely figure out what they were trying to say but it definitely was not what they originally offered.

The customer service rep and supervisor were both unhelpful and bordering on RUDE. I was told I basically had no recourse but could contact their Correspondence department via p.O. Box. I asked for an email address and was told that I could get one after I signed up for online account access. I did but can NEVER get through to using their email link. I want them to send me a record of my original phone application which was supposedly recorded at the time. The email link always returns with a message to "try again later". I intend to file complaints with the BBB and also the FTC. I won't stop with this.

I am so disgusted with Chase and will NEVER charge anything to this card and will work double-time to pay them off or transfer to a more reputable card. I informed the supervisor of this and she was "sorry to hear that." Ugh. I can't believe this behavior from such a large company. They are not reputable at ALL in my opinion and I'm sorry I responded to their call.
