MBNA AMERICA BANK PLATINUM PLUS offered me a credit card with a 2.99% for CASH ADVANCES and BALANCE TRANSFERS and 7.99% on PURCHASES. Which I thought was a great deal; since I have three other of their cards. When I made a balance transfer and received my first statement in August. I had not used the card and I got it at the end of March until July. The rate was changed to 7.99%
for the transfer with excuse that the PROMOTIONAL RATE had expired in July's statement.
I have two contracts/credit agreements where it states NON-PROMOTIONAL RATE on cash and balance transfers at 2.99% no experation dates. So I called right away to question the change in rate.
I have spoken to numerous representatives and supervisors and faxed them the pages of the agreements front pages and the ones with the rates. They insist that is an error on the agreements because they do not offer such rates; unless is a PROMOTIONAL PERIOD of months. They agreed
to extend the "promotional rate at 2.99%"until February and yesterday to March. But they not want to accept the written contract when I first got the card.By the way in May, June and July I called the 800# to make sure on the rate and all times I was informed the 2.99% was a permanent rate and took their names down and told the supervisors the names and the info. That I had
received over the phone. But refuse to check the conversations recorded because they say on the message that they are going to record your conversations with the representatives; unles you tell them not to. But I never have asked them not with MBNA or any other company I do business.
