On 11/15 I called 24petwatch to update my information because I moved. I was shocked to learn the information they did have since july was never correct to begin with and I would have to pay to update the information. I took down the incorrect contact number and called and found out it was a number of a hair salon that has had that number for 20 years and did not know me at all, nor ever had any thing to do with 24petwatch. I then called Charleston animal society who are the ones who put the chip in my pet. With the paper work in my hand the carbon copy of the original form I was told they only send in the paper work to 24petwatch to be entered and they are not the ones who made the mistake. Another call to 24petwatch asking for an explanation. Representative "Drew" said the information was entered 7/23/09 by Charleston animal society using petpoint what ever that is... He then sent me an email with user and password to go to their online site to correct and update my information at no charge Now i am taking my pet to the vets office today to have the chip scanned to verify that the information is correct. As a consumer it is my responsibility to follow up. I feel this should be on the contract "that it is the responsibility of the consumer to verify that all information is in fact correct" just so others know this does happen and mistakes are possible. If anyone has a chip put in their pet have it scanned right away to make sure all information is correctly entered.
I am very thankful that my beautiful Lab "Gilligan" now 3 years old never became missing and not found just because of this unexceptable mistake.
