Kim and Colin Fritzler of Windrock Greyhounds ROCK! My family just adopted a beautiful little girl greyhound from them and we are very pleased. We wanted to share our experience with these people. They are a rescue/breeding facility located in Western Colorado.
Acquiring a greyhound has been a lifelong ambition, but I haven't had very good luck. I first bought one advertised on a internet puppy sales site and that was a big mistake. The fault lies with me because I didn't do my homework. Well, I finally got my money back and the puppy returned and that wasn't easy. I learned my lesson, I would deal with a good breeder, and I didn't care how much extra it would cost. The fiasco with the first dog cost me dearly! I tried to find a greyhound breeder and finally stumbled across the Windrock Greyhounds website (http://www.windrockhounds.net) What a beautiful website and I was instantly impressed by the content and wording. I learned more about Greyhounds on one visit to that website then in many hours surfing the net. I knew instantly these were the people I wanted to deal with.
I found both Fritzlers very helpful and professional. They provided lots of information and gave suggestions on books to buy. They even invited my family (kids too!) to their establishment, which also is their home. Upon arrival, I knew I was in heaven. I have never seen so many beautiful happy dogs and met such genuinely nice people. The dogs had great quarters and spacious areas to play. We did have to provide references and go through a interview process to be approved for one of the greyhounds, but it was worth it. It only strengthened my resolve and I really wanted one of these beautiful creatures.in the end, I think my sincerity won out as we now have a new family member.
If I have any words of advice to share, it would be to carefully research the person you are entrusting with your confidence and money. The internet is a scary place and I was really scammed the first time.
I highly recommend these people, the Fritzlers. They are genuine down to earth people that have provided great support for us and blessed us with a wonderful addition to our family. We couldn't be happier!
