I am pretty upset right now, so forgive me if I sound irate! I am! I was given Kittyco's name by one of your volunteers, and when I bought my kitten from her, she stated that vaccinations and spay/neutering is included in the fee. I paid her extra as I thought it was a good thing and believed in what you did, helping unfortunate kittens/cats. I dropped off my kitten this morning, a tad over 4 months old. He was a beautiful black kitten with white markings and was adorable. When I was asked this morning if I cared to 'tip' the cat, I assumed that they meant that they would put a chip in the kitty's ear to identify him as being fixed. They did not say anything to me about what 'exactly' tipping meant. I, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, DID NOT KNOW THAT THEY WOULD CUT HALF OF HIS EAR OFF!!! I am soo upset right now I could throw up. This staff, by no means, explained to me that 'tipping' would do this to the kitten. They have ruined his looks and taken away the beautiful little face that he once had because of your staff not educating 'new kitten owners' of this procedure. I will never use Kittyco again, nor will I donate one damn thing to their cause for future. I am sooo disappointed and sickened by this. My representative that I got the kitten from never mentioned anything about 'tipping'. I have left her a message as well. I wanted to let others know about this incident for sure. This kitten was in a safe and loving home and would have been completely an indoor cat. He was not ferel and had no reason to have this done. I don't know why this staff felt they had to sell me on this idea and that 'it was a 'good idea, in case he got out'. Ridiculous. And when my ten year old daughter comes home tonight and see's his mangled cut ear, she will be quite upset as well. This was her 10th b-day present and your 'Kittico' has ruined his looks. After this traumatic experience for him, I hope he comes out with the once sweet personality he HAD. I will also report this to the better business bureau for future volunteers, donations and warn them of your total mis-communications. Never again!!!
