Here’s my review and complaint and my story about my beloved blue eyed white himmy Hershey that we lost in December 2017, at 1.5 years of age and an awful experience I’ve had with her breeder Jennifer Barr of Beau Barr cattery in New York after we lost her! 4 month old Hershey was sick from the start, she started puking after we got her and has never stopped, her condition progressed despite all our efforts to help her, and no amount of medicine, prayers, doctors, treatments, special foods and diets would ever help us save our precious baby girl! We had to hand feed her every day and pray for her to eat every time! She suffered from autoimmune disorder, which caused her severe ibd, lymphoma and ultimate death due to anemia and internal bleeding after 4 blood transfusions and close to $5000 In just er bills!
Surprisingly I’ve had to beg her breeder over and over again for a replacement kitten or a refund, which has been going on close to 5 months. Jennifer has informed me that even though she has litters they are show quality kittens and she would let me know if she ever has any pet quality kittens, when I asked her the timeframe, she said it would be around December or January of next year 2019! I have been nothing but polite with her only to receive rude remarks that I’m not ready emotionally for another kitten just yet and need to heal first, as well as calling me a spoiled brat and stating that I don’t respect the memory of our beloved Hershey very much because I’m ready for another kitten! I also tried to explain to Jennifer that according to her, she has stopped breeding all Hershey’s blood lines all together shortly after we got her and now only has Copper eyed Persians! I had to keep begging Jennifer and be in fear each time she will just block my number and stop talking to me altogether! Jennifer has not returned my phone calls around Christmas time when I reached out to her for support and never called me after we lost Hershey like she promised! She never told me we would be getting a free replacement kitten or compensation until I reached out to her in my long heart felt message in February!
I was quite upset after finding out that Hershey was inbred by half brother and half sister, that had the same dad. I never knew about it because the breeder never provided me the pedigrees she promised and never provided her cfa cerficate after she got spayed and simply ignored my requests! I was upset that it was hidden from me! I have numerous vets stating that was a cause for her illness and ultimate death!
She also has never provided me a contract during a kitten purchase as she said her lawyer was working on it but she promised in her text that she gives a health guarantee for life threatening health disorders! I was never provided her shot or deworming or health records. I only know she’s been to a vet once 2 weeks before going to our home.
I really missed our baby Hershey and my requests to connect me with her siblings owners or send me photos of how they look all grown up were ignored, later on Jennifer informed me that nobody stays in touch with her!
I still feel puzzled why Hershey was on 4 different human grade strong probiotics, and supplements like taurine, l lysine, biocoat and eyestain(which is definitely not recommended for young kittens) and coconut oils and raw egg yolks, etc. That seems like a lot of supplements for a young kitten right after weaning.
The whole experience was very painful, heartbreaking, especially after her death! and breeder didn’t make it any easier for us just by simply making things right! After contacting CFA Jennifer has finally sent us a long awaited partial refund! I truly wish we wouldn’t have to go through this painful experience!!!
