My husband and I recently had Direct Tv installed, but before doing so I spoke to a service rep and asked many questions especially regarding what we could expect as far as local channels because I wanted to have what I currently had and liked and was assured there would be no difference.

We live in between Rochester and Syracuse NY and have always preferred Rochester channels because we are closer distance wise to Rochester and therefore their news and weather is more pertinent to us. After Direct Tv was installed we have only Syracuse channels, which I nor my husband like. We were told by customer service that we cannot have Rochester channels because our zip code requires us to have Syracuse. If I put up an antenna I would receive Rochester and Syracuse channels and be paying no monthly fee. When I pointed this out to a service rep today she told me that I have a contract that I have to honor or I will have to pay more fees. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will NEVER recommend Direct Tv to anyone. I think that if you are going to provide a consumer service that you need to realize that customer satisfaction is the basis of your business and I am a very dissatisfied customer.
