SunTrust wrongfully repossessed my mother's vehicle. SunTrust said my mother was behind two payments, and my mother was scheduled to make a payment on 02/16, and SunTrust accepted these payment arrangements. SunTrust said my mother did not pay December's payment. This is not true; my mother has payment receipts to prove she paid these payments.
My mother was only behind for the January payment, for which SunTrust agreed to payment arrangements for 02/16. The repo people came early, at 7 am, to repossess the vehicle. They had to force the vehicle down the driveway because it was still in park, probably messing up the transmission and the tires. My mother called SunTrust to make the payment, but SunTrust would not accept any payments. Instead, they were going to force my mother to pay the full amount on the car, knowing my mother does not have the money to pay it. My mother told them to keep the car and that she would file for bankruptcy to not pay them!
SunTrust wants to treat my mother unfairly and not accept the monthly payment. SunTrust has just cost itself its money, and they have to pay the repo bill and the damages they did in the driveway! SunTrust did not give notice of any problem with the account and could not wait until 02/16 for the payment. My mother was 30 days past due in 2006 but made payment arrangements to pay 2 weeks after the due date, and they did not repossess the vehicle then. SunTrust is playing some type of game, and people do not need to try to get a vehicle through SunTrust. Like I said, they wrongfully repossessed my mother's vehicle after accepting payment arrangements. This is a reason not to get a loan through SunTrust: they do not hold up their end of the promise, and they back out of payment arrangements. Customer service gets an F.
