After AES bought my student loan from my previous lender, it charged me an additional $3500.00 in fees, which AES says were an oversight by that previous lender. They also made me submit my IBR forms again, as my previous lender had done too, and then returned them, saying I had not included the signed tax form. I sent the signed tax form three times, along with payroll stubs. Meanwhile I kept paying my original IBR amount, but AES raised the payment to more than 4 times that figure and now says I am past due by $1800.00 plus interest. There must be some way for the government, which issued my original loan, to keep an eye on this kind of loan-sharking company.
