I had many pending ACH transactions posting against my checking account. I arranged for additional funds to be deposited into my account to cover a rent check, but the bank did not release that money promptly. It paid the rent check first, which caused every pending item to be either paid or returned and brought heavy overdraft fees.
The bank would not refund most of these charges. First came a $36.00 refund, then another $72 charge to me, then a $72 forgiveness. All the while I was carrying around $600 in fees. The bank cannot stop the ACH transactions that hit my account. It would not close the account either. Even after closing, any transaction posting within 5 days would reopen the account and bring more fees.
I cannot afford to pay down all these fees, and more keep piling up because the bank is unable or unwilling to do ANYTHING. The bank has wrecked me financially.
How is it possible that a bank cannot keep further transactions from posting to my account? I will be contacting all government and consumer groups and describing the appalling conduct of this bank.
