What a phony they can be. They sent me a letter offering a Citi Amex card at no fee so long as I keep my Citi m/c. I got it and used it. Then yesterday I saw they charged an $85 annual fee.
When I called, they asked me to fax them a copy of the letter, which I did. The customer service guy turned me over to a supervisor, Ron, after I was on hold for 8 minutes. Ron came on with the opening statement, "I understand you want to close your account." I said no, just cancel the annual fee per the letter. He said he would then close the account, which he did.
Again, what a phony scam.
