I hope this serves as a warning to everyone it reaches that Allstate Floridian expects people to know what goes on with the pipes in their walls.
A tiny leak that appeared only when I was using my shower, and possible shower pan, tile or grout failure, led to mold and sheetrock damage. Ultimately they say that I, as the homeowner, should have known this was happening.
My words to Mr. Charles Summers were that I do NOT have glass walls in my condo, nor x-ray vision. The tiny drip, now fixed (I use my other shower), was no doubt made worse when I was using the shower and hot water for the pain I was in before they assisted me to physical therapy. I was the victim of a car accident several months ago.
Policy buyer, beware. You can bet that, at least with Allstate, you are NOT covered and will face paying for replacing everything that is moldy and ruined. Check your policy, and do it in front of your agent, no matter what company you have.
