This is not the first time I have been ripped off by this bank, but it is the most severe. Before, it was only 1 or 2 overdraft charges, which should have cleared. Their claim on this matter was that it was all in the timing of how everything cleared, but the money should have been in there each time.
This last time, they put in about $500 worth of overdraft fees in the past 2 weeks. It literally seems that every time I use my debit card, there is a $35 charge. I went in to check why all my money was disappearing and got them to print out my account history. According to the printout, my balance did not go negative until the overdraft fee went in.
So we try to work around their new "timing." Now it seems that each week their timing changes, and more overdraft fees are incurred. I do not know how to keep track of overdraft fees that should not have been incurred in the first place. I mean, how do I know when these people are going to put in overdraft fees right before my check clears, so that I do not have the money that I think I do?
I went in after the first 3, asking why these overdraft fees happened, and they fabricated the timing sequence so that I was overdrawn. I asked about overdraft protection and was IGNORED. They have this option, but they do not want you to be able to get out of their little loop, because this seems to be the only way they can make money.
If I can find enough people having trouble with BB&T Bank, I would like to file a class action suit, because no business should be able to rip off consumers, especially a bank.
