I have been a customer at the same bank for years. It used to be Bank of Louisville, but it was bought by BB&T several years back, and short of getting a new bank card, nothing changed.
Until this month. Suddenly, I have more than 300.00 in NSF fees for one month. Apparently what put me there was a 7.99 monthly fee, which I have never seen before, and about a dozen "foreign ATM inquiry" fees at 2.00 apiece. I have always checked my bank balance anywhere I saw fit and never had to pay a fee for that. I originally went with Bank of Louisville because they did not charge me a fee for taking money out of a "foreign ATM." I would pay the other ATM's dollar or two, but my bank did not punish me. Now all of a sudden I have not only 2.00 fees for taking money out of other ATMs, but for merely checking my bank balance at them.
Naturally, when I checked each time, I saw money in the bank, or I would have called them long since and pitched a fit. No, each of these foreign ATM fees showed up this week, all at once. And each one after the first one had a 32.00 fee attached to it. I am ruined. I have nothing. I do not know how we will eat or put gas in the car.
I am taking my business elsewhere and will tell everyone I know that this company has ruined what used to be Bank of Louisville, and no one in their right mind would ever bank there again after hearing what they have done to me. It is a week before Christmas and I have nothing to buy presents with, while BB&T enjoys my holiday gift budget.
