Colleague's Hacked Email Asked for 1,200 Pounds From the U.K.

I have not lost any money; however, a colleague's account was hacked and used to ask for money. I know that his account was hacked because I spoke to him in person the day the email was sent. The email, with the subject line "sad news," stated that he was in the U.K. and needed 1,200 pounds. I responded to the email stating that I knew the person's email was hacked and that I would report them to the authorities. The scammer sent an email today, 6/6, but I deleted it.
