I have been unemployed since 4/10. I have sold most of my personal property to maintain mortgage payments, as unemployment insurance does not cover it all. I submitted an online application to Midland for their Delinquency Assistance, with their qualification stating "either currently behind in payments or anticipating falling behind". After receiving all requested documentation, Midland contacted me and simply said I do not qualify for ANY assistance because I am not at least 3 months behind in payments! What?! This is contrary to their posted requirements and is irresponsible!
So they will only work with people who are NOT PROACTIVE about helping fix the problem before it gets out of hand? And a 3-month wait?! After 3 months the property can be foreclosed! This seems more like a front under the guise of "we'll help" but in reality delaying the inevitable until they can take the property away. Further, they did not offer any discussion of any other possible programs, including HAMP, though I understand they are required by law to offer me any and all possible avenues.
