I have a mortgage with Midland Mortgage. I have been paying $444.09 a month for at least 3 years. They sent me a letter wanting to raise my payment by $200. I called them and they said that when they bought the mortgage from GMAC, GMAC only gave them one tax bill. I have two tax bills, one in the summer and one in the winter. I have an escrow account with Midland Mortgage and my taxes have been paid without any problems. They claim that I owe more money because in fact I have two payments.
I should not have to pay extra for their mistake. They should have done their homework and realized that I have two tax bills. I faxed them a letter stating that I want to cancel my escrow account. I have not heard anything from them yet. I am on a fixed income and cannot pay the extra $200 that they think I owe. The mistake was theirs, not mine. Please help me. I do not want to lose my house because they did not check it out. Please. This is fraud.
