Network Solutions started a new auto-renew 4-5 months ago that automatically opts you in if you have account information in their system. You have to remove your account information to stop it, or call them.
I switched providers and they started a "refund request." They claimed that they refunded me on the same day, but said to wait 7-10 days for it to take effect. (It was PayPal. It is immediate.) I never got my refund. I filed a dispute case with PayPal on the 20th, 4 days after my refund date.
After multiple calls totaling about 8 hours of hold time, they said they were researching why I had not been refunded by PayPal. They also gave me an invalid PayPal transaction ID which PayPal could not find, nor could they find any record of an attempted refund from Network Solutions. The dispute ended after 10 days and PayPal gave me my refund.
So what does Network Solutions have to say about this? I have not talked to them since, although they still have an ongoing account showing after I transferred my domain, and they sent me a delinquent account notice. I will be calling them today and telling them to delete all my records.
