I am so angry at Microsoft Xbox Live! I recently learned from my bank statement that Ms.net charged me $43.75. I called 800-469-9269 to find out who was charging me and how to stop it. I was told that someone had signed up to download games and movies with points, with my credit card number at hand. I spoke to my son, and he said that my name and credit card number were already on the account. I asked the rep on the phone how they got my information. The rep said someone had to enter it manually. I said that was not true! I requested a refund and was told that they are not allowed to give refunds for the points, which one has to purchase to download games. They left me high and dry!
I also asked to have my credit card number removed, and they said it would take a few days, which sounds iffy. I plan on investigating this further. If you purchase an Xbox that has Xbox Live on it, make sure you remove your credit card number and name if you do not want what is called a "Cat" (Continuous Authorize Transaction). Also remember to cancel any subscription before the 30-day "free" trial is up, or it will automatically renew.
