If you are thinking of leaving your current cable/phone/internet provider for ATTUverse, STOP. Don't do it. We have had nothing but trouble from day one. First of all when we signed up we were told that our area was in the service area that ATT covered. On day 1 of installation the installer said that we were too far out and the phone/internet and cable would not work properly. It took 7 days to resolve and the issues kept coming with service. About a year later, we moved to a new how about two blocks away and the customer service rep said that we had to completely close our account, get a new phone and open a new account just to move two blocks over. When the installer came, we asked him about that and he said that wasn't true, the reps get paid for new accounts, not transfers. We had to mail in all of our equipment which ATT said they did not get and then sent me to collection for the old account, while I had a new account with ATT and they never tried to contact me. After I thought I had resolved everything they still sent another collection letter to me saying I owed 60.00. Ridiculous. I unfortunately found myself needing to move a year later which ironically was another two blocks away and I was once again told that I had to close the account and open a brand new with a new phone # along with a NON REFUNDABLE deposit of 450.00 because of the collection on the old account. I said forget, cancel everything. I mailed my equipment back and they are still billing me for all services at the old address and charged me the 450.00 deposit on the bill. Unbelievable. Customer service is horrible, they don't do anything they say they are going to do. It's disgusting and I will probably once again have a negative mark on my credit that I will have to dispute. Like I said in the beginning, if you are thinking of switching, PLEASE don't. It will be a HUGE pain for you.
