They will find any petty means of taking your deposit from you so count it as gone

InTown Suites Highway 6 advertises $199.00...

After taxes and additional charges its actually $241.00 plus a $50 dollar deposit supposedly refundable at check out.

After several attempts to contact their complaint lines and corporate office I received no return call or response so do not bother wasting your time. It has just been posted to wear you down so you will eventually get tired and forget about it. They will not actually answer or return your calls to address any customer disputes.

The toilet and room were not clean upon arrival. The pillows were like sleeping on a bag of rocks. They only clean rooms on Monday so I had to do it myself.

The internet would not work the entire time I was there. The courtesy officer was of little or no assistance and the Manager was not much better in getting it fixed. The only reason I took this room was to have access to the internet. It would not work because the Encryption is so archaic that computers will not accept the encryption code anymore due to the lack of security it offers. With the exception of the girl that checked me in, the rest of the staff was rude and unhelpful with the few requests I made. The entire complex was noisy with kids running all over the place screaming and out of control.

I was willing to live with the majority of these issues due to the fact that the place is inexpensive. While in the midst of checking out of the hotel I had all of my items in the car ready to go except a couple of bags I left in the room. My phone rang and distracted me for roughly two minutes. At exactly 12:01 I tried to open the door and I was locked out. Unable to retrieve my last two items I went to the management office and stood there waiting for 10 minutes. When I got to speak to the Manager to explain the situation she kept going on and on about how they gave me a courtesy call and went to my room at 10 something in the morning. None of which I have any recollection of happening.

The maintenance guy said I was asleep, but either way if you wanted to truly do someone a courtesy call them or go by their room 20 to 30 minutes before checkout. Not several days or hours. The call I supposedly got was two days before checkout or just when they could have just leaft a note on the door. Either way I don't care because I never received the message in the first place and it was of no use to me unless they were readily available at 12 o'clock to open the door when I got locked out.

Long story short is they took my entire deposit of $50 to cover the few minutes I was locked out of my room. I understand that rules are rules and as she stated it was company policy to exercise this charge. And in turn it is my right to exercise a customer complaint against this hotel. When it was all said and done I could have stayed at a better hotel with working internet, a clean room and a staff that appreciates the business they get. I really didn't need to stay in a hotel at all but decided to do so because it appeared to be a great deal. It was not.

I encourage anyone looking to get a hotel room to go down the street to Motel 6 or best western who are actually in the business of retaining customers for future business and meeting the minimum services being offered in the contract you sign when you arrive. This Hotel did not meet the minimum requirements and to add insult to injury basically ripped me off on the way out the door. This is nothing more than a slumlord palace disguised as a Franchised Hotel Suite. After having spent the last 7 years in Iraq I can take a lot, but I do not under any circumstance have any tolerance for any company that unreasonably looks for slick ways to get your deposit from you before you check out.

If it had been 30 minutes or even 15 minutes after the fact I would have understood. But it was a matter of about 60 seconds by which I had to pay $50 dollars for staying at this place. And the majority of the time it took me to get my few items out was spent waiting for the Manager to reset the key in the lobby and having to walk back and forth to and from my room.

I checked in on a Thursday at around 8 pm. 7 days later I checked out at 12 pm. The way I see it they got an additional two days of charges for nothing accompanied by subpar services. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra 5 or 6 bucks a night to stay at Motel 6 or La Quinta down the street. After it was all said and done I paid more at this place than either of these hotels and got a fraction of the service.
