I`ve made a booking at the Lido Hotel via their website and was informed about a 50% deposit to "secure"the booking. So on the 1st April I went their with my family for lunch and payment of the deposit, whereby I was helped by a gentleman called Jacques, and a lady Theresa (under correction) The Booking was made for the 8th off April for /-40 guests which was a total amount of R3960.00.. (Sunday Buffet lunch)
Unfortunately I had to cancell on the 7th April due to circumstances beyond my control (family member passed away in a brutal accident) I even went to Lido in person (With my family) on the 8th again to confirm cancellation and explain to jacques the reason why I had to cancel... And decide to have lunch there anyhow... Jacques told me then that the lady who`s doing refunds will be in the next Thursday and she will do the neccessary refund and explainations. So I e mail Lido on The 9th to confirm refund on cancellation and Do so three times thereafter. Then Only on the 17th I got feedback via e mail and the Shock of my life that only R20.00 of the R2000.00 Deposit is refundable and that a 50% cancellation fee is levied..
So I e mail the back to tell them that I was`nt informed about a cancellation fee or whatsoever so where does that come from all of a sudden. And that it is pure "daylight robbery" I mean if I was told about a 50% cancellation fee I should`ve made alternative ways or arrangements... I`m really so annoyed with people like this... Just Please help!!
