My husband is black and I am a white woman. We decided to vacation in Dubai. Well, to our dismay we met with very racist staff on the Emirates flight. My husband asked if we could be seated together as we had booked our tickets and the attendant stated that we could not as another lady needed my seat. So, a black lady was sitting next to my husband while I was sitting next to a white man. I was very frustrated at this time. After two hours went by my husband asked for a coke and then he was not given one after 30 minutes. He then proceeded to the bathroom and was told to sit down for turbulence. He then later got up again and was told he had to go after a white older man. My husband was very angry at this point. He then demanded that we get to sit next to each other and so another two individuals swapped seats with us. When meal time came we were skipped and received warm tuna sandwiches an hour later. It was disgusting and made us queasy in our stomachs. It was rude and unfair treatment!
