Long story short, I purchased 2 round trip tickets for my fiance and myself in November for a trip March 29th,5 months later. 4 weeks before my departure I received an email saying that one or more of my flights had been changed. Upon further inspection I found out that the entire trip had been mangled, connecting flights leaving before we were scheduled to arrive. Our dream vacation has turned into a nightmare, there has been no help from anyone. I have been asked to call back in 24 hours for the past three weeks. Every time I get a different story. I asked to rebook the flight and they told me the only way to do that would be to cancel and rebook, but they won't give me the price that I paid originally. It is now $600 more per ticket, and when I asked about this the representative said, "well, that's what you get for booking so early." Not true, this is what I get for booking through Orbitz. After at least 14 hours on the phone with different representatives I can tell you, if you have a serious issue with your flight plans, there is nothing they can do to help you. I have worked nonstop with them to try to find a solution and it seems that I am the only one throwing out actual realistic solutions to the problem, but none of them will try to accommodate these fixes. The last representative told me, when asked what would happen if I left for my trip before my return flights had been resolved, "Don't worry sir, if we cannot get you a return flight we will just cancel your trip." Seriously?!?! Thanks so much for cancelling my $3,500 flights that I booked 5 months in advance because you can't seem to get your S%@# together!!! I am so furious at this point that I would gladly stand on any stage and tell as many travelers as possible to avoid Orbitz. I have never been taken advantage of and treated so poorly in my entire life and I will gladly do whatever it takes to make sure no one else has to go through what I have been through in the last 3 weeks. Bottom line, do not use orbitz!!! Tell your friends, tell your family, the little bit of money you save is not worth the nightmare that will follow.
