I was checking my bank statement online when I found a charge for $14.95. It was for a company listed as MWI* Simple Escapes. I was not aware of who this was.
I called my bank, they provided me with a number (877) 836-6903. I also did an online search for the company name. What I found was one of usacomplaints. Coms.
In this report, the individual had the exact same number and stated that it got them nowhere. It also listed a different number (800) 568-2386 This number gave me to a live person.
The individual said I had clicked on an internet offer and it directly debited my account for membership fees. I asked to have my membership removed and the charge as well, since I had not known or benefited from this membership.
He (Philip #16865) was very polite and easy to work with. The charges are supposed to be removed within two business days and my membership was cancelled. I will be checking my account to verify this and also recontacting my bank to make them aware of this as well.
