I have received 5 phone calls now over the last 2 days for vacation in Orlando, 6 days 7 nights at the Radison, cruise on Carnival cruise boat to Bahamas and at the end they said they'd throw in 3-4 days in Vegas staying at the Excaliber. I was weary of what sounds too good to be true usually is, and did not know where they got my details from.
What made me more nervous is that I didn't fill out any travel competition for the US as I have lived there and have no desire to go back. They also did not quote my primary email address (I have a few different emails, which helps weed out scams). I did not give them a credit card number and told them I needed to contact a friend to see if he would go with me.
They told me first it was free then later said I had to pay US$998 but the trip usually cost US$4,000. Then I was told I would have to pay $10-20 a day hotel taxes (never heard of hotel taxes before), that I had 18 months to use it and it was fully transferrable (which is also unusual). The guy said his name was Dustin Pack, I think he was Korean in origin but the previous 2 people who called were 1 female and 1 male who said his name was Robert, definately American. (the male sounded very convincing).
They called back and I politely said no as I didn't want $1000US on my credit card when I didn't know when I'd use it. Then he proceeded to tell me if I didn't think it would clear on my credit card they could charge half now and the rest on a payment plan. I said no thanks.
The only place I think they could have got my details (address and that particular email address) was when I ordered African Mango at www.advancedafricanmango.com which said 4 day delivery. That was on 9 Jan 12 and I have not received anything from them either.
Thank you to this website and other scam websites for making me aware these people are obviously cons and I am spared of getting ripped off! It seems there are an awful lot of scam feedback sites about this company All Seasons Travel.
