On March the 29th my boss and I checked into the Super Eight Motel in Austin, Tx. Before checking in we ask the desk clerk in our trucks and their contents would be safe??? We were told not to worry that everything would be fine. That the motel had security cameras and security guards. On the morning of April 2nd while in the breakfast area my boss looked out at my truck and ask me what I had sticking up in my trucks bed? I looked and I knew instantly that it was the lid from my plastic container that I keep my tool box in. I ran out to check it out and found that it was and my tool box and tools were gone. When I went back inside and told my boss one of the motel workers heard my excited tone and ask what had happened. I took him out to my truck and showed him that my tools were gone. He just looked around at the cameras and said the security guard parks right there by your truck like he did not believe me. He advised me he would check the footage on the cameras and get back with me as he was looking at the security tapes. While he was doing that I called the police and turned it in and got a case number while at the front desk. That evening I asked at the front desk about it nad no one knew anything. I checked out the next morning with nothing being done about my lose of $ 400.00 worth of tools. I will never stay at these MOTELS AGAIN... I am an insurance adjuster and was working the hail storm in Austin.
