John Robertson @ Resorts Buy Owner called insistently to coerce me into allowing him to sell my timeshare. Of course, there was a small upfront fee of $399 that was non-refundable! There would be no more fees at any point down the road and it would most likely sell within 90 days. Unmentioned was the $9.95 a month advertising fee.
In attempting to contact him regarding this monthly fee, I was met with excuse after excuse; he had just left the office, he had just gone to lunch, he was on the phone with another customer and no, I could't hold, he hadn't come in yet and no, they didn't know when he would be in. No call-backs were ever made despite repeated requests and an initial promise from John that he would be in the office a large majority of the time and if not, then he would return any calls to answer any questions or concerns I might have.
The customer service rep, Rich, promised that he would have that advertising fee removed and refunded to me from the time of origin, but after several calls, it still hasn't happened. Currently, John Robertson no longer works for the company and Rich is in charge of selling my property. Despite the fact assurances that there is a lot of interest in my property, that it is priced to move and should most likely sell soon, I have not yet received any offers or been shown any evidence that there have been or ever will be any offers.
Month after month goes by and I have come to understand that I was scammed and will never see any return on my $399 advertising fee but I hope that others will see this and not make the same mistake I did! Stay away from any company that offers to sell your timeshare but wants money upfront!
