I ordered 3 flight tickets online through Alaska Air on 11/2/03 and they cost $355.75 ea from Fresno, CA to Seattle, WA. Today I checked Alaska Airlines web site today and got a price of $244.80 ea. I called Alaska Air and asked them if I could get this price because it was the same flight and times. Renee told me that they could give me a $100.00 flight voucher for each ticket or a $50.00 credit to my credit card for each ticket and they would charge $50.00 for each ticket.
I told her the charge seemed abit high but I agreed to the charge. She then told me she would put me on hold so they could calculate the figures. About 5 minutes went by and she came back on the phone and said that I would not get any credit because this was a Holiday special. I asked to talk to her supervisor "Travis" and he proceeded to tell me that the special has been going on for a month. I told him I had checked the online prices for 2 weeks before purchasing and the price always came up at $355.75.
I said if it was for a month now that this should have been reflected on the website and he said that the plane was probably full at the time so it listed the high price. He then said it sounds like I want to take this to a higher level and I said yes so he give me their customer relations phone number and email. I then asked him if I was going to have any problems with my current tickets because of my issues of asking about the reduced fares and he really busted a gut laughing. Humorous, I think not and very unprofessional.
