I travel frequently on business. The most irritating thing to me may seem small, but it is enough to make me want to avoid all the airlines that charge over the top for baggage.
Traveling is unpleasant enough these days with lengthy security proceedures without the addition of the huge number of bags to the overheads, shoved in by people trying to save themselves from paying those astronomical fees.
If you check in at the pavement, you are charged yet another fee. And that doesn't include the tip for the overworked, unappreciated person behind the curbside check-in counter! So we are triple charged at the curb!
Come on, airlines, use some business sense.incorporate the baggage fee into the price of the ticket and give all of your travelers a more pleasant travel experience.
And stop overcharging for the second bag. I came back from a trade show recently, with extra materials to pack, and had to pay $35 for the extra bag. It would have been cheaper to ship it, but I had no time to arrange that. If you are going to charge for the second bag, make it more reasonable!
One final word about the unpleasantness of traveling.in the Atlanta airport recently, I was shoved through a body scanner. What a violation of privacy—my bones and tissues exposed to someone I do not know! And what about the radiation? We should have a choice whether to go through such a scanner or not. The small percentage of terrorists need not turn the rest of us into residents of a police state—and that is how I felt going through that process. Like I lived in a totalitarian country. And that would go for any country which consistently violates its citizens rights to privacy and good health in this manner.
There are plenty of other ways to catch terrorists without subjecting the majority to feeling violated when we want to get on a plane for business or personal trips.
One favorable work for Jet Blue. A recent trip on your airline was impressive—the plane was new, clean, the hosts were actually smiling and friendly, and no baggage fees! Well done!
