Me and a friend reserved a room with this hotel over the internet for a stay during the All-Star weekend in Atlanta. Big mistake. After driving about 12 hours from the Chicagoland area ready for some long needed rest and some hot showers. First off, When we arrived they "said" they were not done with the rooms, but the parking lot had all of 5-10 cars in the lot.
We were finally allowed into our supposedly freshly cleaned room only to be COMPLETELY disgusted. The first thing I said to my friend was I'd rather sleep in her car. The room smelled of mold and mildew. The room furniture had dark yellow stains which reminded me of a soaked baby diaper— moreover possibly urine. I pulled the sheets back and the bedding was a dingy white... OK dirty. I slid the mattress back and it looked like one of those filthy mattresses that you see set out for the garbage man.
Maybe that's where they got them. After inspecting the rest of the room which took us about 15 mins., we decided to get out and request a refund. The guy at the desk told my friend that he could not give her a refund because we were in the room too long. I was waiting in the car when she advised me with this disturbing information. I got out of the car and tried reasoning with this individual, but he stood his ground.
Then I explained to him if he didn't give us the refund, I will go back up to the room and use our camera for taking pictures of this room to then pursue some kind of legal action if he made us stay there. He gave us the refund and I believe this was only because it was a credit card transaction. If you worry about sleeping tight and don't want bed bugs to bite. Spend the extra money. You'll sleep better!
