I worked briefly for Coral Resorts as a salesman in 2006. The training lasted a few days, not many hours, and then we were placed out on the sales floor. As a former Realtor/Broker I approached timeshare sales as a real estate transaction requiring full exposure and honest representation of the facts. I immediatel realized Coral Resorts was highly unethical, lied to clients, misrepresented products and services, and hid from disgruntled customers.
The worst offender was a manager who is a relative of the owner. All the mangers pitched the same "heat" and lies. Among the lies is their offering of a "developer's week" for "just the cost of the annual maintenance fee" which they said was around $1,000. I checked... If you are "lucky" enough to reserve one of those units the cost was over $2,500.
I had my resume out within a week and switched companies... And experienced an ethical company. I believe in timeshare/vacation ownership. I'm disgusted companies such as Coral Resorts continue to exist and give the industry a bad name.
