Ripoff Deception, broken promises Houston And Tampa and Florida

Sun Country Travel in Houston called us at home (several times) promising a free 3 day trip to our choice of 3 cities in the US - with BOTH the AIRFARE and HOTEL free for 2 people!

All we had to do was come by for a 60 minute presentation on how they could save us money in the future whenever we traveled. No strings attached. We were absolutely promised that we did not have to buy anything, and we absolutely WOULD be given the free trip just for listening to their presentation.

It turned out to be a grueling 2 hr high pressure sales pitch about a special deal that ends TODAY if you don't sign up TODAY!
We declined and asked for our free trip - the one with the no other strings attached (except for listening to their presentation).

Upon reading the application form, I quickly realized that literally 1/2 the people who received this "Free Trip Certificate" would not possibly qualify - as it requires a $100 money order deposit to be mailed in. So much for the "no strings attached" free trip they promised us on the phone! (They tell you they will refund it after you complete your trip. But you know a high percentage of people will balk at sending them the $100 in the first place - hence no free trip from the scam artists.

But there's more. There are actually 6 strings attached which I list QUOTED EXACTLY FROM THEIR REJECT LETTER WHICH THEY SENT US.
(The part in parentheses () are my words.) The rest is verbatim.

* The registration form was not received by the expiration date, and therefore is expired. (They only give you about 2 weeks to get the form sent in!)

* The deposit and Registration Validation Form were not received by certified mail. (In other words, if they get it from Fed Ex or UPS overnight, etc. They literally will reject it).

* The deposit was not received. (Makes you wonder how many people actually get all 6 strings done right, but never get around to their trip and never get their $100 back?)

* The deposit was not paid by U.S. Postal Money Order.

* The registration/validation form was not received.

* The sponsor's information was not filled out.

Then, 2 sentences later they say: "unfortunately, we are unable to process your vacation. Unfortunately, re-submission of the above will not be accepted."

Which one (above) did we miss? The one requiring a US Postal money order. We actually sent a "Western Union" money order. I had already figured out that these people were sneaky, and I thought the trick was to send a reputable money order, as long as it was not cash, travelers check, regular check, etc. We sent a WESTERN UNION money order. They rejected our right to a free trip because we did NOT send a U.S. Postal money order. AND they specifically say that you can NOT re-apply!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? What scam artist scum bags these people are! They have no intention of giving people a free trip like they promise. Maybe, 1% of those attending actually manage to qualify for all their tricks and receive one. But I seriously doubt even that many get one.

If you are thinking about going to one of their presentation seminars, just remember they will ask you to buy one of the "deals" for around $4000 to $8000. Do you want to do business and 'trust' someone to deliver on their promises of great vacation deals who says that "Western Union" money orders are a disqualification in sending in your application money???
