I recently found a charge to my credit card from Travelers Advantage. This was totally unauthorized. I knew nothing about them. When I called they told me I must have cashed the check that came with my credit card statement. I told them, emphatically, that I never sign any of the stuff that comes with my statement, that I shred them. The proceeded to say they were sorry and to give me a cancellation number. I told them it was not a cancellation number because I had never signed up so could not be cancelled. They then said "well, someone in your household must have cashed it then"- There is nobody else in my household. I demanded to see a copy of my signature on this so called check. They cannot provide it.
I immediately cancelled my credit card since they, if they do send these things out, are condoning this unlawfull, unethical activity.
