First, I received two letters, one with the supposedly "free" travel voucher and cruise for two. And I also received a personalized birthday card (which by the way is about 4 months late). So, of course I wanted to call and see what it was all about. I was full of much skepticism and hesitation.
So, I call and the whole thing takes almost an hour, going from one person to the next. All in all, I must have talked to about 5 or 6 different individuals. Obviously, the whole trip and vacation package is real, but the deal was not worth it, after thinking about it. Basically, they put on a front like you are winning the lottery, but in reality it is just a travel package, and not even a good one.
So, I ended up googling this cruise line, and found this website with various entries for Imperial Cruise. I called back the next day and tell the lady I do not want to take part of the offer and want a refund. She put up a battle with me, asking me the same questions over and over again. I had to give her the same reason at least 3 times. I finally said that I will just call someone else that can help me, and hung up. She called back and said she was giong to issue me my refund. I have still yet to see whether the refund processed, and I have changed my credit card number.
I should not have given my credit card number in the first place. The folks are very good at acting like you are a star who won a million bucks. But after you truly think about the deal, having to pay 798 bucks is not worth any kind of prize.
