Elite Escapes International out of South Carolina sold me a "travel package" for over $3000 in Des Moines, Iowa at the beginning of June. After getting home and doing some checking on the web about them, I decided to immediately cancel my membership and did so within the alloted legal 3 business days. I sent the cancellation letter within 3 business days via registerd/certified mail with all the pertinent information to Elite Escapes.
Two months later, I am still dealing with this company, their owners and lawyer, and still do not have my refund back. They have repeatedly lied to me about my refund and have no intention of giving my money back to me. Now I hear that they are filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy today.
This is a total scam company. They have operated under other names including VIP Travel. The owners and managers involved are a bunch of liars and theives. Are there any others out there who have been scammed by this outfit? I'm filing reports with the South Carolina Dept of Consumer Affairs and the Iowa Dept. Of Consumer Affairs and whoever else I can file a report with.
I am dealing with my credit card company to see if I can get them to go after them too, but I'm not sure what is going to happen there. How do these companies get away with this over and over??? This is rediculous that they are able to rip people off, file bankruptcy and then allow to reopen under a different name and P.O. Box number!
To any of you reading this who are affiliated with Elite Escapes/VIP Travel, I have this to say to you: How do you sleep at night knowing you are stealing money from innocent people? You are no better than a street thug, and I sincerely hope none of you attend church because if you do, you are a bigot and a criminal and should be behind bars.
