Global Timeshare Sales - Vacation Property Network
High Pressure Scam Artists

First of all I appreciate usacomplaints.com because it kept me from losing $1,950. Today, I had a message on my home answering machining saying they were calling about my Timeshare. So, I returned the call and I was told that someone was trying to Pre-Qualify to purchase my Timeshare at Westgate Resorts Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The first red-flag was that I had not listed by Timeshare for sale. But, like a lot of folks, I would like to sale it. The caller, Lance, was very up-beat and even made me feel like I was about to get rid of my Timeshare.

When I told Lance that I had not listed my Timeshare he said he wanted to check my file and he would have someone call me back with the details. About 30 minutes later I received a call from John Riley saying that someone was very interested in purchasing my timeshare. Oddly enough, he new quite a bit about my timeshare. He said he did not want to waste my time so he would just fax over the documents required to sell the timeshare once he was sure the buyer would qualify for the loan. So, he said he would call when the buyer qualified. Thirty-minutes later he called sounding all excited saying that the buyer had qualified and that all he would need would be the fee from me so that he could write-up the documents. (Red flag: Why did I need to pay a fee prior to closing?) When I advised John that I would not pay a fee without knowing this was legitimate so if he would fax over the contract for the sale of the Timeshare, I would remit payment. Well, his whole attitude changed. He proceeded to tell me that he just felt like I had no intention of paying the fee and why did I not tell him earlier. He said he had buyers sitting in the showroom waiting to finish up this deal. (Showroom??? What was he selling a car?) He also said that it was really illegal for him to sell the timeshare prior to collecting the fee. But, he knew that several people had been taken advantage of by scammers requesting up-front payments so he wanted to show he was legitimate. He also told me that if I was not happy with the arrangement that I would receive full reimbursement for the charge to my credit card and he would provide the toll free # to me so that I would know there was no risk to me.

I proceeded to tell him that if this was legitimate then he cold fax over the paperwork and I could see that there was a buyer. Well, needless to say all I was faxed was a document stating that I would pay $1,950 for Global TimeShareSales.com to list by timeshare.

Thanks to the usacomplaints.com I could see that this had happened before and well I have not received a call this afternoon to follow up on this buyer that is so eager to purchase my timeshare. I guess he/she is still in the showroom???
