Beaufort County just recently made history when they passed an ordinance stating that they would revoke the license of any business know to employ illegal aliens. Well, here is a good one for them. Beaufort County and its laws are a joke because I bet they will not pick on Marriott.
I have been in the housekeeping industry since 1991 and specifically in Hilton Head for the last three years and have witnessed this.
Marriott Vacation Club hires Mastercorp to do their housekeeping. Mastercorps in turn, hires the illegal aliens. Almost always Hispanic. They employ about 300 full time illegal aliens. There are businesses who make and process false identification (social security cards and resident alien cards). We had two businesses that did this for us.
In one instance, Marriott had an employee who had entered the country illegally, her name is Carolina. They had to remove her from payroll so they (Thad Gregory) asked Mastercorp to hire her. Carolina and her husband run a Hispanic deli in Coligny Plaza and work for Mastercorp. This was a win win. Mastercorp claimed that they had sponsored her.
What company in the US would sponsor an illegal alien? If you are in the US under illegal entry, you do not get to stay. You must re-enter through proper procedure. Thus meaning she (Carolina) would have been deported.
