I reserved a two-night stay starting the following day through Hotwire. A few hours after I made my reservation I got an email from Paypal that I had been refunded. I emailed Hotwire asking what I should do and got an auto-reply that I would be answered in under two hours. 5 or so hours later, I'm looking for another room because I was leaving the next morning and absolutely needed to secure a room, and I get a reply that there is nothing they can do, and to call their number.
Since I didn't have the time to be talking to a machine or someone in India, I ended up going directly to the website of the hotel Hotwire placed me at in the beginning, and got a better rate for the rooms anyway.
Save yourself a hassle-don't go to Hotwire
