We were reeled into this scam in Feb. 2002—my husband is in sales and even he did not see through this, they were that slick.

Does anyone else remember during the first phase of the presentation being shown pictures on the wall of people who had signed up with Travel Bridge—wasn't George Bush one of them?!

How are these people being allowed to do this? Where is my govenment protecting me? The pitiful amounts of return aren't worth the paperwork. Aren't these people actually selling timeshares, and isn't that supposed to be disclosed per some law to prevent just such a thing?

The twist in our case is that, as I understand it, the government had already prosecuted Travel Bridge! It was in process, and yet people like us were STILL ALLOWED to buy this crap! We signed on Feb. 6, and I believed they reached a settlement about Feb. 15 — why were they even allowed to be running sales meetings? Why, in fact, aren't they in jail, instead of being allowed to go from state to state? I'm sick at heart—yeah, we're stupid, but it seems there was plenty of good cause to shut them down.

I did contact the TX Attorny General's office about 4-23-02 — just got a letter from them saying they only have 5 consumer complaints in the last 24 months! Huh? And when I did get a human being on the phone from that office, he was very discouraging, said in essence I would have to file my own suit. I believe that people after me at least got Some money, I got nada.

Please contact me if anyone does anything. I know that one of the women at a class I attended said her husband is an attorney, as well as a personal friend of John Cronyn—so if even Attorneys are getting suckered in, something stinks. Wish I knew her name, but they probably got their money back...

Basically, for the c. $2700 I got a bag with some books, and a dinner at Red Lobster. My first real tipoff came when I was excitedly trying to get a better deal for rooms in Rome for my brother—I had gotten them for $127 a night myself. TB called me back days later to say they had found some for $400 - $500 a night. Oh boy, big trouble. They never did check any of the ones I mentioned. And then the clincher—the gal I talked to says, "well, just go to hoteldiscounts.com, that's where we get them." And then, to add insult, we get a bill for dues that are owed for the next year, and we haven't even been there a year, so they are still seeking even more of my money.
P.S. It sure is hard to fill out the report info as they seem to have so many addresses, and who knows where they are now?
