New Years Eve and New Years Day Hotel Paisano and Joe and Lanna Duncan had the local police throw my family out of the hotel without even asking what happened the night before.
Here is what happened. Keep in mind, we have a 3 year old daughter and a 17 year old son that were there. We had booked two of their best rooms for our stay.
We sat downstairs after the new years celebration around the lobby fireplace on the sofa and visited with other vacationers until about 2 am. Our daughter would not go to sleep as she had slept all the way to Marfa that day. So, she was wired. At about 2 am we went to our room. While walking down the hall she was very happy and made some noise laughing. We tried to keep her as quiet as possible but none the less, she did make some noise. Not much though and only while we walked to our room.
Well, a long haired hippie next door to us opened his door and asked us to keep quiet. He said this to my wife and i did not hear him. But she told me. Well we got into bed and she began to cry for about 5 minutes. This man came back to my door and knocked on it. I got dressed and went to the door and he started to tell me to get quiet in a rude way and i closed the door in his face. He then banged on my door as loud as he could in a very threatening way.
I could not call the security as there are NO PHONES IN THE ROOMS. Also, my cell phone is sprint and it had no signal in Marfa! Thus, we had no way to call anyone with this nut case outside our room. Never heard anything else from him that night. I honestly believe this guy was a homosexual as well... A very strange guy.
The next morning we were awoken by a woman banging on our door. We were suppose to be moving to the Rock Hudson Suite, the movie GIANT was filmed in Marfa and he had this room. So, I assumed she wanted to let us know the room was ready... Wrong...
She told me that she had heard from the guest next door that we had left our child unattended in our room the night before, she was crying and crying... She said the CPS, THE POLICE AND HOTEL SECURITY HAD BEEN CALLED AND HOTEL SECURITY HAD COME TO SEE US IN THE NIGHT.
Well, no one came to our room but that strange guy... No police, no cps of course, and not even hotel security...
She then told me that we needed to get our things together and vacate the hotel immediately! She did not even ask us our side of the story or anything... Just leave...
I asked to speak to the owners of the hotel... Joe and Lanna Duncan... They called him in front of me and he refused as he was enjoyed football on tv with his family and a hot meal of course... So, i then spoke to JD the sheriff and he said he could not do anything although he did not believe their story... But it is private property... The lady that did this was a midget bowllegged woman that look like some had left her alone as a child... She was just a very poor rep for a hotel...
Thus, on New years day, hotel paisano threw us out with no where to go, no restaurants open and not another hotel for 70 miles available. We got to the car and noticed that our 3 year old had fever... She was running 103! Thus, we now did not have a room, no food on new years as everything was closed and were 500 miles away from home...
I plan to file a lawsuit against this hotel. Stay tuned... This was the first time in my 44 years to be thrown out of any hotel and I have been all over the world...
