Lost Luggage and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, no compensation towards changing return dates!

DO NOT check in any luggage with Spirit Airlines! Now that i see how horrible their luggage "system" is, i would never wish this scenario upon another traveler. We are currently stranded in Guatemala, and my main bag has remained missing after 13 days of phonecalls and inquiries. There is NO standard system in place for Spirit to reunite a lost bag with its owner. At LAX, Spirit rents a tiny portion of the Alaska Airlines terminal, and has no infrastructure of their own.in Guatemala, the baggage agents will take a lost bag complaint, but they have no means to enter the information in to the main computer system... Nor the "world tracer" system... And so lost bags STAY lost.

So luckily we had opted for travel insurance through Spirit for $12. I imagine that i'll be compensated up to the $500 limit, however, this doesn't fix our ruined trip. We tried in vain to find a customer service agent who might allow us to change our return date due to the lost bag. But no, we'd have to pay a $70 change fee, as well as any fare difference. This company needs to be boycotted until they change their ways. Such disregard for customer service will not last long, no matter how cheap the fares are!
