High Pressure and Fraudulent Sales Tactics RIVIERA MAYA

My wife and I cut our November 24 to Dec 1 winter vacation short by three days because we could not get out of this resort and the Mexico fast enough. We have been RCI memebers since 2004 having purchased a unit week and the beautifull Windjammer Landing Resort in ST. Lucia (highly recommended by the way).
We decided on a fairly last minute vacation and could not get into the Windjammer so settled for a trip to Mexico, as there was availability. What a mistake. Even though we are timeshare owners, we were sweet talked into attending a resort presentation and committed to their 90 minute time committment (in writing no less).
We were assigned to a sales representative named Kimberley. She was very nice, created rapore with us, took us to breakfast and a tour of the condo units she thought might interest us. They were very nice and after viewing them we went back to the sales room and that is when the heat got turned up. Kimberley gave her final pitch about two hours into this process and after finally learning the cost of the product, we respectfully declined but we were actually trying to see if it made sense for us to make the investment. They even offered to get current market value of my timeshare in St. Lucia and were trying to work the transfer of that into the sale.

She then called over Rene' who sat down and thoughtfully tried to figure out a way to roll our current timeshare assett into the purchase to make it more affordable. Then the numbers started to get suspicious. After quoting a price of $129,000 for 4 weeks, an offer only good if we bought that day, they rolled in the condo sale, switched is to a lessor resort, with only two weeks, total cost with condo trade in $20,000, with $5000 down, balance due in 60 days.

We are now 4 hours into this sales process and at this point we are exhausted and needed to go. We had been closed on by three different people at this point no less than four times. They finally agreed to let us leave, but we had to be signed out by one last person who needed us to answer an exit survey.

Great, I now think that we are almost home free. Then the exit survey taker tried to close the sale a fifth time, and I lost it and said we needed to go. She said fine and passed us off to the last member of the team who would " sign us out". Wouldn't you know, he sat down and attempted to close on us again at which point I leaned across the table and said" I do not even understand what you are trying to sell me at this point and I just need to get the h-ll out of here. At that, he jumped up yelling that I was using profanity, and if I was fgoing to use language like that, he would have me escorted from the premisses by the local police. Being in Mexico, I just took my wife's hand and headed out the door, she was in tears and could not belive what had just happened.

Needless to say, we stayed one more day, and then checked out on November 28 and did not look back.
This operation smacks of corruption, deceipt and lawlessness that you cannot comprehend until you experience.

These people need to be stopped or other potential victims need to be warned. Do not go the and of the Grupo Mayan properties, there are many other nicer places to go in the world where you will not be taken advantage of.
