Because of the continued efforts by United Vacation Network to suppress the truth as well as the efforts of its employees (posing as customers) to post false reports on this site praising the company, it's important to remember the KNOWN FACTS about this company. All of the information below is a matter of public record. There is no speculation or allegations here.
The UVN operation: First of all, Christy Daniel is a convicted felon. She is currently on probation after serving time in prison for stealing money from a company named Suntasia, another Largo company that sells bogus travel memberships. Ironically, Suntasia was recently raided by the feds for engaging in deceptive sales of travel memberships and other fraudulent activities. Christy claims she is a lawyer, but she is not and never has been.
Next, employees of UVN post false reports on this website and others claiming they are customers and how satisfied they are with UVN. On another website, a person named Steve Hempfling claimed he was a member and praised UVN. Further investigation reveals that Steve is Christy's boyfriend. They live together at the same address. I doubt anyone who is a UVN member is happy unless they actuallly enjoy being victimized. Christy's status as a felon should make everyone who has financial information and bank accounts with UVN lose sleep at night.
As for the claim the UVN has nothing to do with the marketing companies that promise the free gifts and vouchers, that is an ABSOLUTE LIE. Heather Garris, the UVN Office Manager, is also listed as the Manager of Blowfish Media, which is one of the companies UVN uses to send out the postcards offering the 'free' cruise. Heather works at UVN and at Blowfish Media. (Their offices are both located in Largo, not very far from each other). So there is definitely a link between the marketing outfits and UVN. Besides, do they think we're stupid? How could UVN sales people just show up to do the sales pitch unless they were in communication and doing business with the marketing companies? They certainly don't do it for free.
Of course, Donna Loher, the President of UVN, knows all of the above. She herself is no stranger to violating the law because just last year the State of Florida obtained an injunction against UVN and one of her many affiliate companies (the Pita Group) for violating the Do Not Call Registry law. UVN/Pita Group paid a fine, agreed to shut down their telemarketing operation, and are under a permanent injunction. Within a few days after that lawsuit was filed by the State, Heather Garris established Blowfish Media at the same offices used by the Pita Group to violate the law, and now they do the telemarketing and postcards to potential victims.
Earlier this month, the Florida Department of State & Attorney General's Office filed a motion with the Circuit Court in Pinellas County seeking to hold UVN in contempt for again violating the Do Not Call Registry and the Court's order in Case No. 06-5280-CI.
Finally, a lawsuit seeking class action status has been filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court, Case No. 07-6868-CI.
ALL of the above information is public record. For additional information anyone should contact public citizen 2 at gmail dot com. Most of it is accessible over the internet. The bottom line is you have a network of companies with a convicted felon running legal interference for UVN, an Office Manager who doubles as a Manager for one of the marketing 'affiliates' and a President with a history of violating the telemarketing laws. Hmmm... Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
