Starpoint Resorts - Geo Holiday Aka Fairfield Resorts
Misrepresentation of services, dishonest, a total rip off!

I concur will all i have read about these people on this website. Beware of this company who claims to sell "timeshares" in las vegas.in short this is the letter we sent to them.

Mr. Vasey, We purchased a timeshare from your Las Vegas folks in May 7. We just received the packet that they promised us 4 months earlier. We received this packet August 31 (Wake Island time) please see attached copy of postmark. We have been very patient; I have made numerous calls wondering what happened to our packet since we didn't even know what we had purchased. I called the office you had on Paradise Road and the receptionist said they had mailed it out to us and it had gotten returned. I believe you send them ground UPS, but not sure.

Anyhow instructions were given to these folks that this had to be mailed US Priority Mail prior to our departure from Las Vegas since we live in a very remote military island in the middle of nowhere and our mail could sometimes take weeks to get here, but somehow communication broke down somewhere.

Our chief complaint is not this, however we never got our first 3days to review our purchase with the option of canceling our transaction in good standing. We have now reviewed our packet just yesterday, and we are very disappointed in the way your representatives presented the information to us. It was done in a very misleading manner.

We are not new to the timeshare scene since we own a timeshare with the Jockey Club since 1988 and satisfied with most of their services for the most part. Not only did you mislead us into thinking that your point/credit system was better, but you also had us believing that an average week with RCI resorts would cost us 4-5000 credits approximately per/wk. This is totally wrong since the resorts you are talking about are not 5-star quality, and if we wanted a resort of this quality we would have to have more like 90,000 credit/per/wk. Your sales reps assured us that they were all top quality.

My husband and I remember asking your folks about this points/credits system since we suspected the catch lied underneath this. Well we came to find out that it does, and although I know your folks have to make a sales pitch, we bought this timeshare under the wrong impression. I can tell you now that if we had had a chance to review this packet at the time of purchase, we would've been able to tell you that we had no need for it. Why would we purchase an average of 15,000 points which would amount to approximately 1-3 days of vacation time (if we're even lucky under your system) for $9000, and continue to pay $400 approximately in maintenance fees for the remainder of the 45yr period?

This is insane! Some of your RCI resorts are up 93,000 points per week and some per day. We would need 100,000 points minimum to obtain the quality of a resort that we now have with the Jockey Club and Interval International. We have experienced that; we know the quality that we have with 5-Star resorts all over the world. We just thought we were buying an extra week of this. Your point system doesn't work for us at all. This is the 2nd day of our review on what we bought, so we are asking for a refund, minus your minimal fees for services of course, on our down payment.

This is not a threat, but if we cannot resolve this matter diplomatically, then we will have no other choice than to seek legal guidance.

We went in there in good faith, and not only did we not receive good service, but you mislead us through your sales pitch into thinking something totally different than what it actually turned out to be.

I have contacted our bank to stop payment on the maintenance fee and the regular scheduled payment. I am sorry this did not work out. Your salesmen need to be a little more honest with people. As consumers, we deserve that right.

If you are in las vegas, do not purchase anything from this geo holiday group! We have contacted an attorney and she has not been very helpful due to legal terms, clause, etc., not sure why? But we now that we know we are not alone. We will pursue this til no end.
