I rented a car for a few hours to be driven around Manhattan. As I was riding, I started to converse with the driver. The driver seemed very professional and courteous. He started telling me how this company was treating him very unfairly. He said they made him work 12-18 hours a day, yet he was only earning maybe $100 for the entire day. Then he said they would cheat him on his checks. He wouldn't always get all of his tips that were on the credit cards or house accounts. He also said if he didn't always do whatever he was told, right or wrong, he would earn even less. Like if they asked him to work really late and then asked him to start really early, while only getting a few hours of sleep. He said he didn't mind doing it once in a while, but they would have him doing this practically all of the time. I'm sure this isn't safe or healthy for the driver. It sounds as if they work their drivers like slaves and then don't compensate them fairly. He told me he was going to leave soon because he was always tired when he drove, and this is definitely not safe for the passengers. The TLC should start investigating this company for their unfair labor practices and unfair wage distribution. I definitely am NOT using this company ever again, and I urge everyone to also NOT use this company. They are the WORST!
