Staybridge Suites LLC
Rude and Unprofessional

To whom it may concern,

My name is Staff Sergeant Randy Camacho (USMC). I am a guest at your Stafford Staybridge branch in Virginia. I would like to extend my appreciation for the accommodations at the hotel. I find that the amenities are appropriate to assist me with my needs while attending my military course at Quantico, VA. The breakfast in the morning, the kitchen in the rooms, towels and other accommodations are why I chose to stay at your hotel. I read signs throughout the hotel and the same sign can be found in each room. The sign indicates as follows:
IF YOU ARE STAYING LESS THAN 7 NIGHTS:
Light Touch housekeeping service is provided daily, Monday through Friday, and includes the replacement of used towels, the emptying of trash, and the making of your bed. Weekend Light Touch Service is provided on a request basis only, and can be scheduled by contacting the front desk at extension 0 by 5 P.M. On Friday afternoon.

IF YOU ARE STAYING MORE THAN 7 NIGHTS:
Full Service cleaning is provided on a weekly basis, and was scheduled when you checked into the hotel. To confirm the day of your full service cleaning, please contact the front desk.
Light Touch housekeeping service is provided on all other days, Monday through Friday as described above.
Save money. Aid the envirnment.
Staybridge Suites housekeeping service has been designed to provide our guest with the value, privacy and flexibility they desire. We have also designed this service to decrease our impact on the environment by helping conserve natural resources.
Should you desire to make additional or alternative housekeeping arrangements, please feel free to contact us via the front desk.
POOL & EXERCISE TOWELS:
For your convenience, additional towels are provided at the pool and in the exercise room.
On September 20, Joy Taylor the General Manager contacted me regarding my use of the towels. She spoke to me regarding the state of which the towels had been left once I used it after my Martial Arts Instructor Trainer (MAIT) Course 3-11. I used these towels to wash up like any other guest in the hotel.in my course, we go through extreme physical activity. Some of which tracks dirt and other material from working outside. Joy had told me that my use of these towels had been disrespectful to the service provided stated on the hotel policy. She also told me that she was not going to charge me for the damages done and she was not going to contact my direct chain of command (supervisor) in regards to my misconduct as a military service member. At the time, I was shocked to be spoken to about this matter. I told her that I will cooperate in any way that I can to resolve this situation. I struggled to understand why I felt I was in the wrong to no conviction. I later realize that with all the supporting facts stated throughout the hotel and as a guest I was not in the wrong.

On September 21, Joy Taylor contacted my first sergeant 1stSgt Rogers. 1stSgt Rogers contacted me regarding this issue to understand why Ms. Taylor called her voicemail. Joy explained that my misconduct had been inappropriate to the fact that I left her a note and my stay as a guest was no longer available.

I came to the conclusion that if Joy felt I was disrespecting the staff or any other guest she could contact my Chain of Command. I also asked that she contact the MAIT Course regarding my misconduct and behavior. Furthermore, I also stated in the letter that I received these towels back in the efforts to used bleach and detergent to wash out these materials in which she felt was inappropriate. I asked this to understand what conduct is appropriate as a guest in your hotel. Some questions that need to be answered. Do I as a guest have to pay for the damages? Do I as a guest have to wash towels that the hotel service deem inappropriate. Do I as a guest have to be bothered of any consequences of misconduct from my Chain of Command resulting in hotel staff personal opinions about me? Do I as a guest have privacy to any degree? Ms. Taylor went completely out of her way to make me as a guest in this hotel feel uncomfortable. I feel that no policy or procedure set by your hotel has been compromised. The only problem resulting from this issue is personnel involved and their management skills when dealing with customers. I ask that Ms. Joy apologize for her inappropriate conduct and be better trained on her position as a General Manager. If not able to come to that agreement, I would ask that a more qualified individual of better stature to hold this General Manager Position to deal with customers.
