I was doing some out of town shopping when my car wouldn't start. I needed to call my husband but had left my cell phone at home. The store wouldn't allow me to make a long distance call on their phone so I had to use the pay phone to call my husband collect. I couldn't reach the operator the first 4-5 times I tried because the recording kept getting stuck on "press 1 for English"; then when I tried to make the call using my credit card, the recording got stuck on "enter the zip code for your billing area". Finally after about half an hour of this, I was able to reach an operator and complete my call. For a call that lasted exactly 1 minute and 26 seconds, I was charged $25.57!!!!! And to make matters worse, I have no way to contact the company because all I have is the entry on my bank statement that shows that $25.57 was subtracted from my account by Legacy Collect Calls.
