I called the owner about purchasing a rebuilt 2002 Evinrude 225 (Clockwise Rotation), instead he installed a 1999 Evinrude 225 (Counter-Clockwise Rotation). After 3 hours of intense confrontation, I left with the engine mounted; because I live almost 5 hours away. Once I hit the water with the rebuilt engine, I broke it in as he claimed in his instructions. First the engine got stuck in gear, leaving us helplessly unable to stop. Second the engine would surge up to almost 1800rpms. Third, the engine will not rev above 2500rpms without stalling. After a intense battle on the telephone trying to get things resolved; he insisted I had issues with my boat. So I took the boat to a local mechanic having all the fuel lines, filter housing, filter, and pick up tube replaced. Still same problems accurred. So I contacted the company again. The owner insist that my boat was to blame for the issue and that he does not build anything that is bad.
Please read this before considering using this place to do anything on your boat. I personally wouldn't let them work on a Go-Cart!
